Growing up in a safe environment is important for the healthy psychosocial development and well-being of children and young people. In conflict-affected areas children are, among other hazards, prone to physical harm, (sexual) exploitation and gender-based violence, recruitment into armed groups, family separation, abuses related to displacement and denial of children’s access to quality education.
War Child contributes to increased levels of protection by addressing the above protection issues in its psychosocial programming. War Child advocates for the development and implementation of protection policies and practices for children and young people.
