Training and capacity building activities are undertaken with varying groups of participants. Within War Child programs, often adults (caregivers and teachers) are trained to increase their capacity to support children and improve their understanding of the rights and responsibilities children have and the responsibilities they have towards children.

Youth are trained to be able to work with children or set up youth groups. Training of teachers takes place to support them in developing their pedagogical skills towards children who have been affected by the impact of conflict. Another type of training is the organizational development support that War Child provides to local partners. This support can be in financial management, but also in monitoring and evaluating child and youth projects, as well as child rights, child development, life skills etc.
