War Child identifies three intervention strategies to realize lasting positive changes in the lives of children and youth:

• War Child works directly with children and youth by directly delivering services to them in situations where key service providers such as governments are not be able to do so. From War Child’s viewpoint, service delivery alone is not a sustainable way to tackle issues causing the violation of children’s rights.
   
• War Child works with communities, organizations and institutions by building their capacity to take up their responsibilities towards children and youth.
   
• Being an international organization with national and international leverage, War Child also works with key people and institutions by advocating for structural policy and practice changes in the socio-political environment at different levels in society.
