Internship – Institutional Funding
For a period of between 3 and 6 months

This internship presents an exciting learning opportunity for the successful candidate to work within the Institutional Funding Unit at War Child Holland. To build a network with donor organizations around the world. The intern will support the manager and other colleagues within the Institutional Funding Unit with various projects to identify funding opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Investigate institutional funding opportunities through intensive desk research
- Identify relevant US foundations through existing databases
- Contact international foundations about possibilities for War Child by email or preferably by phone, and follow up accordingly
- Register al contacts and results
- Scan weekly relevant funding websites and update calendar
- Support manager and colleagues at the Institutional Funding Unit with additional tasks
- Additional support in projects to ensure compliance with donor regulations (like the development and alignment of the Sanction/Corruption Policy and Complaints Policy
Requirements
- Education (or soon to be graduate) in a relevant field (e.g. International Relations, Social Sciences, International Development. International Business)
- Demonstrable knowledge of NGO and/or development sector, preferably through prior work/volunteer experienceGood analytical, research and writing skills
- Good communicative skills – the ability to retrieve relevant information about funding possibilities with different organizations in different countries
- Good command of English-language, both spoken and written (all research and conversation will be in English)
- Self-motivated independent worker with the ability to follow direction and effectively learn
- Good team working skills

All travel expenses, coffee/tea, computer access are covered/provided by War Child.
However, no additional remuneration is provided.
