Online annual report 2009
In 2009 the increasing violence in Afghanistan, the tension in the Middle-East and the lack of access of aid to the Gaza Strip dominated the news. War Child reached more than 970,000 children and youth in 11 (post) conflict areas and the Netherlands. These children were able to take up the challenges of today’s world, permitting them to be a child, improving their relations with their peers, catching up on education or integrating them into society after their involvement in armed groups.

Online annual report 2008
Numerous conflicts across the globe made 2008 another year with many victims, including a large number of children. In 2008 War Child reached 865,000 children and young people as well as some 212,000 adults in 13 countries, including Lebanon and Burundi, where we started in 2008. Many volunteers, friends, donors, corporate sponsors and partners, institutional donors, goodwill ambassadors and co-workers have made War Child’s growth possible. Thanks to your efforts, producing a stunning 33% growth in revenue, War Child has grown by 36% in our project countries.

Online annual report 2007
In 2007 War Child reached 850.000 children and 130.000 adults in 11 countries. Main investments were in expanding our existing programmes, where our help was highly wanted: Columbia, the Democratic Republique Congo, Israël en de OPT Palestinian Territories and Uganda. The ongoing violent conflict in these countries leaves permanent damage in children. Our psycho social programmes offer them a safe environment, more possibiliies to develop in healthy ways and a better future.

Kosovo Research
War Child initiated an investigative report on the effects of the creative workshop cycle. Together with partner organisations we asked the children, their
parents and their teachers about the effect of the workshops.

Uganda Research
War Child realises the importance of partnering with collegues in the field and universities to research the effects of our interventions. In Uganda War Child worked together with World Vision on a research study for the University of Boston. This resulted in a publication in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).

Sierra Leone Survey
in Sierra Leone War Child focuses on the psycho social rebuilding of communities. In this report we state the problems with which children in the after war period in Sierra Leone are confronted with. And how the work of War Child responds to that. We state results the programme achieved, based on an extended research study among 1200 children and adults from six communities.

Child Soldiers. The shadow of their existence
This report outlines the know problems of child soldiers and the different forms of recruiting. The report zooms in on the Colombia situation and the motives with which Colombian children join these armed groups. Finally there's a list of actions that can be taken to change this situation and the contributions of War Child in these actions.
