War Child in Sudan
From 2004 – 2006, War Child established a program for children, youth and adults in and around the areas of Khartoum (North), and Malakal, Yei and Juba (South). The program was adjusted in 2007 to emphasize the protection of children by engaging relevant adults within the community to assist in the construction of providing a safe environment (in the broadest sense of protection) in which children can grow and develop. The target groups were then refined to street children, children not attending schools (living in prison or orphanages), and children in IDP camps.
