Programme description
War Child’s main aim in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories is improving the psychosocial wellbeing and ensuring the protection of children and young people affected by the ongoing conflict.
War Child support local organizes who engage with children and young people through drama, fine arts, music, sports and life skills trainings and by promoting an atmosphere of peace and dialogue.. In addition, the program contains a strong child rights advocacy component.
War Child has been active in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories since 2004
For the period of 2011- 2014, War Child will support partner organizations working with children and young people who:
- are insufficiently protected from violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect
- lack sufficient and adequate psychosocial support
- face discrimination and lack participation rights.
