WCH’s Colombia office in Colombia was settled down in 2005. Since that time, WCH opened several calls for proposals and established partnerships with local organisations which share the same goal of providing child protection and psychosocial support to children and youth in conflict areas while using creative methods.

War Child supports (financially and technically) 7 local NGO´s that are dedicated to the improvement of child protection and psychosocial well-being of children and youth affected by the internal conflict in Colombia. Primarily in the following regions: Bogotá D.C., Putumayo, Risaralda, Cauca, Norte de Santander, Valle del Cauca, Arauca, Meta, Chocó, Bolívar, Sucre, Atlántico. 

General purpose 
To improve child protection and psychosocial wellbeing of children and youth affected by the conflict in Colombia through support and capacity-building of local organisations.

Target Population
  • Children and youth affected by the war in Colombia (at high risk of being recruited, displaced, or demobilised youth).
  • Their families and communities.
  • Professionals, teachers and others professionals working directly with children and youth.
  • Youth groups and organisations, Colombian NGOs.
  • Governmental institutions, International organisations or institutions.
