ICT4Peace, War Child UgandaICT4Peace
In the project ‘ICT for Peace’ ICT and media are used to increase access to education. War Child established centres providing young people with access to computers, internet and information on elementary skills, education and peace building. The possibilities to interact with others and connect to the world improve their sense of belonging. The centres are valued meeting places in the communities.

Learning for life
The goal of ‘Learning for Life’ is to improve access to quality education (formal and/or non-formal) for parents, teachers, youth and children in and out of school. An evaluation performed by War Child revealed that school drop-out rates have been reduced. Also, the capacity of teachers to deliver quality lessons to children has been enhanced and The feeling of self worth and capacity to cope with life by the youth has been increased.

Building skills; changing futures
The overarching goal of the program ‘Building Skills; Changing futures’ is to expose youth to a variety of youth related life- & livelihood skill. This is done through psychosocial support activities in peer groups as well as providing opportunities to endeavour in vocational training, apprenticeships and self managed savings & loan schemes.

Move forward
War Child provides women involved in sex work with tools, skills and knowledge to improve their informed decision making and understand the risks involved with hygiene and work-safety as well as protection issues, both formal as well as informal through peer-to-peer and caregivers.
