Children rights in Sri Lanka

In 2017, the Human Rights Council and the Committee on the Rights of the Child reviewed the human rights situation in Sri Lanka through the Universal Periodic Review or Sessions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

War Child has provided input to these processes based on research and consultations with children. Watch the video below about the children’s priorities.

A list of recommendations to improve the rights situation of children affected by armed conflict can be found here. Interested in the children’s views to the UN list of issues on child rights in Sri Lanka? Read more here. These can be used for the UPR and CRC review and follow-up of Sri Lanka.
