MEET FATIMA (13)
Syrian refugees make up nearly one-fourth of the Lebanese population. Many live in crowded camps with few opportunities for the future. When we first met Fatima she couldn’t read or write. Now, she’s a budding storyteller determined to share her talent with others...
“When I feel frustrated, I write a story - that's how I let off steam.”
What we do
War Child is active across all governates of Lebanon. We are currently in more than 40 locations - including the most vulnerable areas of the country.
All children deserve the same opportunities in life. That’s why our psychosocial support, education and protection projects see us work with Syrian and Palestinian refugee families as well as host communities. We also strive to boost the inclusion of children with disabilities.
We partner with local NGOs and grassroots organisations to co-create our projects and strengthen their capacity. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible through our programming - especially parents and caregivers.
