Meet Nema

When Rebecca heard a wailing sound from a garbage dump, nothing could prepare her for what she found next. Baby Nema lost everything to the violence that consumes her country. Yet, with a little support, the community is taking her under their wing...

"War Child visits us once a week. They provide baby milk, porridge, sugar, a blanket and charcoal for cooking."

What we do

War Child works inside South Sudan to help children cope with the immediate and long-term consequences of the protracted civil conflict. Through education and vocational training, youth build vital skills with a vision to transform their country’s future.

We work with parents and caregivers, teachers, community leaders, national and international partners and government officials to repair the social fabric and shield children.

Recent years have seen us take our projects one step further. Today, we provide quality child protection and mental health and psychosocial support services to children associated with armed groups - made possible by building the capacity of frontline workers.
