What Is Life Like for the Children of Gaza?

Adil’s story
Adil (9) was stepping out the front door of his house when an Israeli airstrike buried him under the rubble. Four months later, he lives in a tent in Rafah - with a stent in his arm, carrying the weight of war.
Adil is one of over 900,000 children forced to move multiple times under attack by Israeli forces. Now, Rafah is meeting the same fate. There is nowhere left to go.
Nasir’s story
Nasir (10) is from Gaza City. He was born with a chronic kidney disease.
Now in Rafah, his days consist of travelling back and forth to the hospital – under constant threat of Israeli attack.
He has to queue for hours just to be seen. And when he does, it’s more bad news. The medicine has run out, the dialysis has stopped working…
Nour's Story
The last time Nour (14) went to school was on the 5th of October before Israeli bombardment rendered #Gaza a war zone.
Her favourite subjects were math and physics and her dream was to be a surgeon when she grew up.
Yet, seeing the brutal scenes of war and “so many doctors getting bombed”, Nour is not so sure anymore.
“I do have a goal but it’s different”, she says. “All I want is to be a happy, successful person.”
These stories were collected in the first months of 2024. Since filming, the situation in Rafah has deteriorated rapidly.
