Meet Roda
Roda and her grandmother fled Ukraine with nothing but a few suitcases. Now she lives in a shelter in Uzhhorod, a city in western Ukraine, where she is taking part in art therapy as well as educational lessons...
"I have a lot of fun here. I have many friends. We have many adventures every day. But I miss my puppy; I miss the sea; I miss Odesa."
What we do
Children across Ukraine remain in the midst of armed violence while thousands more have been forced to flee their country; leaving everything behind them. We are committed to supporting children, youth and their caregivers through our programmes in Ukraine and major host countries. .
Through our award-winning EdTech programme Can't Wait to Learn, we provide emergency education to children on the move to help them return to learning amid extreme conditions. We also work with local organisations to share our expertise and strengthen their capacity in areas including child safeguarding and psychological first aid.
The impact of war and flight goes far beyond physical wounds. Our evidence-informed psychosocial support intervention, TeamUp is active in Ukraine and a handful of neighbouring countries.
